I'm Sam Brightwell—writer, artist, teacher, and tree-hugging hippie. An advocate for conscious living and new ways of doing business, I provide life & business  coaching  advice.

Does 'business' have to be a dirty word?

I still feel tentative about calling what I do 'my business', as I think many of us feel that 'business' is a rather dirty word.

Well, I'm discovering people that are recreating 'business' into something far more authentic and inspiring than the usual competitive, commercial, capitalistic thing.

Some of us want to create our own businesses that will support our lives and our dreams, based on what we do well and what we love doing.

I'm interested in people like us supporting each other.

So here's the plan.

I'm embracing the B-word from now on. This is my business and I'm going to make it bloom. And, beyond ethical, it has to be authentic, creative and seriously cool.

I'm putting in everything I know, and everything I'm learning along the way, to create a classy guide to doing vibrant business with values that rock.

It's called 'How to build a really good business' and covers sensible stuff like strategy, branding, positioning, marketing, advertising, research, copywriting, using the web wisely. Etcetera.

It won't cost a bomb and, if you're new to business or just thinking of starting-up, could be just what you need.

Do you want to join me for the ride? I hope you will.

Righto. Now let's get started.

We'll be launching in September 2010, and before then I'll add to what's here.
